Hello Stephen The GRO Indices are available on Ancestry (and I understood they were available for viewing free of charge, but may be mistaken about this, perhaps someone else will confirm). You don't say whether this is a birth, marriage or death you are looking for - I've had a quick look on Ancestry (I'm a subscriber), but can't see what you're after.
