Hi Stephen I've checked the third quarter 1884 births on Ancestry, but can't see your Thomas Evans. Genuki says that the Penkridge registration district was abolished in 1877 and succeeded by Cannock district. I can't see a Thomas Evans listed for Cannock in that quarter either. Could you confirm that it is definitely the September Quarter of 1884 you are looking at? [this from Genuki site]:- PENKRIDGE REGISTRATION DISTRICT Registration County : Staffordshire. Created : 1.7.1837.
