See http://www.liverpool-genealogy.org.uk/Events.htm 30 September 11 am to 4 pm - NORTH MEOLS (Southport) FHS will be holding its annual Open Day in ST Cuthbert's Church Hall, next to the Church in Churchtown village; we are a very small, but hugely friendly Society and enormous on Fun! Our Committee use the Open Day as an excuse to bring history alive by wearing period costumes representing events which have occurred in the area; admission is free and we have a help desk, fiche reader (with Census fiches), local family trees, our library on display, publications for sale as well as exhibitions from our local Library, the General Register Office and the Liverpool LDS also attend. Visiters are most welcome and there are several hostelry's and tea rooms for refreshments. 22 October 12.30 pm to 6 pm - The RIMMER FHS will be holding its Annual Reunion at the Fleetwood Hesketh Sports & Social Club, Fylde Road, Marshside, Southport, Lancashire. There will be exhibition boards, publications for sale, two speakers : a real Viking (full details at a later date) and Gladys Rimmer Armstrong will explain the number of different Rimmer lines she is directly linked to! Sandwiches will be available to be purchased up to 1.30pm and there is a bar for the really thirsty Rimmerisers!
