    3. Hi Olive & all the list, I have been a bit quiet recently enjoying the sunshine! Thank you Olive for all your suggestions & expert knowledge! For people that cant remember I was looking for a newspaper report re the death of Wiliam Alfred BROADHEAD (died 1891 Blackpool). His death cert mentioned the inquest. I emailed Blackpool library as Olive suggested & they found the report & sent it by post to me! I was so pleased & very impressed by their service. The info was really helpful & gave me a real insight into life in 1891 when William died as a result of burns caused by pulling a paraffin lamp onto himself whilist resting on the sofa as instructed by the Dr for a sore leg. My ancestor Clara SWIFT was mentioned in the report as a witness. Anyone else that maybe looking for an inquest report it is certainly worth trying the library & old newspaper's. Jackie Savill, Southampton Snip>>> Email the Library for a start, all the newspapers are on film and as you have a date, well that seems good enough. I think Coroners reports are at Lancashire Record Office in Bow Lane, but most of them were thrown away, this could be an impossible task. central.library@blackpool.gov.uk Olive

    3. Jackie Tonight we had our branch meeting at Blackpool Central Library. They have loads of stuff that even I did not know about. It was very impressive. I was looking in the paper for anything regarding Hannah who had died in America. One thing that struck me, nothing changes. So many cases of domestic violence. In the 1933 paper so many people killed by a motor car. Must have been sheer bad luck or maybe they just did not think to look before crossing the road. Strangely enough I did notice someone killed by a fire caused by paraffin, not sure what date this one was. So much local news is contained in the newspapers, I wish we had more local news today written up. Olive
