Dear Friends, A few of you have expressed a wish for a Lancaster list. Well, your wishes became my command. ;-) You're invited to join the ENG-LAN-LANCASTER list and share your expertise and queries with others interested in genealogy and the history in and around the City of Lancaster. I can't point you to an information page for the list because there isn't one yet. You can subscribe, however, by sending a message in plain text to ENG-LAN-LANCASTER-request@rootsweb.com (for List mode) or to ENG-LAN-LANCASTER-D-request@rootsweb.com (for Digest mode) with the single word "subscribe" (without inverted commas) in both the subject line and body of the message with no additional text. Best wishes, Lynne
Lynne Can you perhaps define how far Lancaster mailing list would cover please? I am particularly interested in the South part, Garstang and also the Cockerham area. Any boundaries would be appreciated. Olive

I'm sure I used the info on GENUKI to determine the boundaries, but I'll be damned if I can find that info now. How about that area around Lancaster north to Cumbria, east to that "Y" county <vbg>, and south /south-east to the area encompassed by the Fylde? It doesn't look like the Preston list covers Garstang and Cockerham, so you're more than welcome to discuss these areas on the Lancaster list. Of course, you're always safe in posting to LancsGen. Best wishes, Lynne
