My dear friend, Max, who resides in Blackpool has a web page full of beautiful pictures devoted to Blackpool and the surrounding area. These pictures have been so comforting for me, especially with me being here in North America. I'm sure, especially for those of you overseas will enjoy them also, as I have. _http://charlescleworth.fotopic.net/_ (http://charlescleworth.fotopic.net/) John Moulding

I see some familiar names published on <http://freespace.virgin.net/mc.storey/freespace.virgin.net/mc.storey/html/family_history.html> and you might want to add yours. This page of the Poulton-le-Fylde Historical and Civic Society web site says: "If you are researching families in POULTON, THORNTON, FLEETWOOD, BLACKPOOL and the surrounding area you might like to email brief details of the name/s to add to the list below." Unfortunately, I can't find the e-mail address to which submissions should be sent. Can anyone else find it? If someone (Olive?) has mentioned this already, please forgive me! At the moment, I'm brain dead -- family visiting! Best wishes, Lynne

Hi, Just want to let people know I am currently transcribing my church's records. I've already done the marriages and am now doing the baptisms. All entries start from 1907 and the church is situated on Palatine Road, on the outskirts of the town centre. If anyone would like a look-up please let me know. Hi Now I know why the name was familiar. There was a programme on T.V. not long ago re the Manchester United air crash. The chap at Blackpool, re football history, I remember his first name is Gerry. Email the Library and ask for Tony. Good luck Olive
Roger, Would you like to give us a little more information. If you contact Blackpool Central Library they may help. There is a chap who knows a lot about football and players. Have you tried Manchester Central Library, or is there a website for Manchester City. I know there is one for Manchester United. Good luck Olive
Jackie Tonight we had our branch meeting at Blackpool Central Library. They have loads of stuff that even I did not know about. It was very impressive. I was looking in the paper for anything regarding Hannah who had died in America. One thing that struck me, nothing changes. So many cases of domestic violence. In the 1933 paper so many people killed by a motor car. Must have been sheer bad luck or maybe they just did not think to look before crossing the road. Strangely enough I did notice someone killed by a fire caused by paraffin, not sure what date this one was. So much local news is contained in the newspapers, I wish we had more local news today written up. Olive
