    3. Thanks Lynne. I will try out your suggestion. By the way I managed to soft-talk the Blackpool Registry Office on the telephone into confirming from the register that the Fylde marriage did not fit my criteria. I don`t think I could have done that with a bigger office. Gerard

Isn't it funny (peculiar, not ha ha) that you had lived so close to them? It's like those shows on tv where siblings are reunited, only to find out that they went to school together, etc. Best wishes, Lynne

    3. I am a new subscriber living in Buckinghamshire researching in Liverpool where all my father`s family came from. However, I have a black and white studio photograph of a great-aunt Mollie ( Mary Agnes BOYLE born in 1904) wearing a theatrical costume which could be of Little Red Riding Hood. She looks about 20 ( give or take). The photo is endorsed "Geo.Lord. St Annes". Mollie was born in Liverpool and brought up there. I would guess that she would not have appeared in an amateur production so far from Liverpool and that perhaps she was on stage in a pantomime in Blackpool as a professional actress. Has anybody who knows about the history of shows in Blackpool any ideas for further researches I could make? I know that a Mary A.BOYLE married a man named FISH in the December quarter 1924 in the Fylde district. I suppose no-one has access to records to show whether the A stands for Agnes? Gerard

    3. Hi Les LancsBMD website has another two Joseph Eaves births within the period you are talking about:- Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1850 EAVES Joseph Poulton-le-Fylde Blackpool PLF/8/58 Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1851 EAVES Joseph Poulton-le-Fylde Blackpool PLF/8/91 and FreeBMD also has a couple more:- Joseph Eaves 1846 Apr-May-Jun Preston Lancashire Joseph Eves 1849 Jan-Feb-Mar Preston Lancashire It's possible (though not probable) that there's another Joseph born to a Luke & Nancy Eaves - are you sure the date on your certificate reads 1843 and not a badly written 1848? Did you get the certificate recently or is it an original? Also, if wife Nancy was born in 1801, she'd be rather old if she had Joseph in 1848. I can't see the family in 1851, but maybe someone else will have better luck. Best wishes Janet C >From: "Les" <18315251@imagine.ie> >Hi >Trying to find in the 1851 census Eaves\Eves family ,found in the 1841 >census in Preston,1861 in Thornton Poulton Fydle 1871,81 ,91 1901 >Liverpool >Luke Eaves head 1811 Nanny 1801or Nancy wife Jenny dau 1834,Richard son >Bricklayer 1836,Isabelle dau 1839 a gap of 10 years Joseph 1848 son >Bricklayer >I have a birth cert of Joseph Eaves 15Jan1843 Nancy Dewhurst mother living >at Avenham Lane Preston occupation porter, the Luke in the census is a >brick;layer lab. >All my information still points to being born in 1848,is it possible there >is another Joseph Eaves of Luke & Nanny >Les R _________________________________________________________________ The new Windows Live Toolbar helps you guard against viruses http://toolbar.live.com/?mkt=en-gb

Are there any descendents currently living in the Blackpool area? > Also, any information of parentage of Robert or Isabella. If available, the marriage cert of Robert and Isabella will give you the fathers' names and locations. This entry from FreeBMD looks like a possibility: Surname First name(s) District Vol Page Marriages Sep 1838 BRADE Mary Fylde 21 207 COLLEY Sarah Fylde 21 207 COWEL Betty Fylde 21 207 * CURRAN Robert Fylde 21 207 Gregson John Fylde 21 207 * Miller Isabella Fylde 21 207 SLATER William Fylde 21 207 WALSH Richard Fylde 21 207 Not sure why it's hard to believe all the children are from the same parents -- Isabella would have been around 19 at the birth of her first child and around 43 at the birth of her last, which doesn't seem extraordinary -- but you could always obtain birth certs to confirm the parents. As for two James, they may be cousins. It's also possible they are Robert and Isabella's, but that one died and the next baby was given the same name. There are a few James that died before 1863 in the same area. Not much help, but I hope this has at least given you a little food for thought. Best wishes, Lynne

    3. Hi Les I've had a good look at the 1851 for your family, but haven't had much success. I can see them in 1861 and 1871 living in Trunnall, Thornton, so I had a look at that district in 1851 too. They aren't there, but there is another Eaves family living in that district in 1851 - Robert and Agnes, with their children and Robert's brother John. I wonder if they might be related to yours, as it's not a very common name round there. By the way, when you said they were living at Back Tdyfle Rd Preston in 1861, I think you meant 1841. I've had a look at this image too, and I think it says Bk Fylde Rd, which would make more sense! Sorry not to have been able to help you. Maybe someone else can.
