    1. RE: [ECCLES] Cemetery possibilities

    3. Suggest you try Peel Green, Cemetery first. It was the main cemetery for the Borough of Eccles, then in the County of Lancashire. Today Eccles is a district of Salford and we are all in the County of Greater Manchester. I do not know where the records for that time are kept but I suggest you try the Archive offices of the City of Salford which are located on Barton Road, Swinton. This is just a quick reply and if I get more time in the next 24/48 hours I might have more detail for you. John/Jack FOX died in early December, 1931, and evidently Bessie, his wife, predeceased him, although apparently not by much according to the letter notifying my mother of John/Jack's passing. John FOX was living at Rock Cliffe, Westminster Road, Eccles, when last he wrote on Aug 20, 1931. Previously he and Bessie had been living at 10 Clarendon Rd. in Eccles. Does anyone have any idea what cemetery I should contact to search for their graves? I have no idea what religion they might have practiced (or if they practiced any), but John was English by birth (so C of E?), while Bessie was Scottish (Presbyterian?). Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!! ==== ENG-LAN-ECCLES Mailing List ==== Have you used Tree Tops?
