    3. Hi Jane I have a Thomas GIBSON, a butcher who was born at Wincle Cheshire in 1840. I know that some of the family moved into Manchester and I can follow the line to my wife. However there were others and I was wondering if your GIBSON butchers could be connected. Before it became Wilkinsons, it belonged to Woolworths but before that it was a butcher's shop belonging to my Grandfather, and my Father was born in this shop. I am after any information regarding this building or a photo of it would be great. I have tried Salford History Museum for a photo and they seem to have everything but.... My Grandfather's name was George Richard Gibson and he left Eccles in 1916 to go to live in Birkenhead. He was a Master Butcher as was his father, Thomas, and his father, George. > > Thank you > Jane Byrne Whangarei New Zealand > jhbyrne@ihug.co.nz > > > ==== ENG-LAN-ECCLES Mailing List ==== > Have you used Tree Tops? > The Free FAMILY TREE & WE'LL MEET AGAIN SERVICE > http://freespace.virgin.net/tree.tops > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > >
