Has anyone sent for a certificate from the Lancashire BMD? I would like to get several, but I'm wondering how much extra a bank would charge to get a Bankers Sterling Draft. Hello Sue: I purchased a Money Order from the bank yesterday to send to the Salford Registry. I purchased it in sterling for 8 pounds and it cost me $20.05. The actual certificate is 6.50 pounds but I included an extra l.50 for postage. This same registry has sent them to me for just 6.50. I write to them direct. You can get the certificate no. off the BMD and quote it in your letter. The IRC (International Reply Coupon) costs $3.50 and they require two if you go via the request form on the BMD. I live in Canada and can only quote the prices here. Hope this answers your question.
