Worsley church( St Marks), Ellenbrook (Also St Marys) or Roe Green- still a Methodist area to this day with no pubs though I do not know when the Methodist church was built put "Boothstown" in Google and maybe even Roe green or Worsley and see what comes up!     2. Hi Cherryl Thanks for your suggestion. Prior to the introduction of Civil Registration in 1837, a legal marriage could only be solemnised in an Anglican Church, Quaker Meeting or Jewish Synagogue . St Marks Worsley wasn't consecrated until 1846, so Eccles & Ellenbrook were the only Anglican Churches in the area. I have checked the Eccles/Ellenbrook PRs on LDS film up to about 1810, but they are particularly difficult to decipher as the originals were large sheets in poor condition, each of which was photographed at least 9 times to record all the information, resulting in lots of overlap. The early Worsley Weslaean Chapel baptismal records are also, unfortunately, lost. Some chapel folk are buried in Eccles Parish Churchyard - John Burgess, one of the founders of Worsley Wesleyan, was buried there in 1824. I am hoping that the Marriage Index has something in it that I missed !
