Their eldest son Robert Eccles was born in Govan Scotland in 1864 and as far as we know they had one other son Samuel. Came to Oamaru New Zealand about 1873-75. William died in 1881 and is buried in Oamaru cemetery. Also buried in the same plot there is the wife of his son Robert- Alice Sarah Eccles(nee Cleverley) who did in 1896. We think William may have had a brother Robert who also came to NZ. Need help on origins of William John and Catherine Bewick. Jill Murphy
