Hello Listers I am a new subscriber and wonder if someone could help by advising why my Gt Grandmother, Margaret JARDINE b 1828 Eccles would be christened at Partington Independent Church, as were her brothers and sisters. Would it be that Partington is the nearest Independent? Also, where would the records be for baptisms there? Thank you in anticipation Wendy IOM

Hi I'm not sure if this will help, but Eccles Congregational church was not founded until 1860 so the baptism couldn't have taken place there in 1828, though there was a congregational church in Patricroft from 1796 which wouldn't have been too far away. Margaret Southern
