Hi Carol, I have not got anybody called Isabella in this branch of my family tree so far.I do not have any information from Eccles. I found my 2xGt.Grandfather, Samuel GREGORY(age 54, birthplace Eccles), on the 1871 census with his wife Hannah and son Samuel(age 21, birthplace Manchester). Hannah and Samuel, who were both widowed, married in 1869 when Samuel was 52. The marriage certificate shows his father's name as Samuel. He and his first wife, Emma Stevenson, had five children that I am aware of: - Emma Ann b.1838, Betsey b.1842, Ann Emily b.1845, Jane b.1848 Samuel b.1849,(my gt.grandfather) The children were all Christened at Manchester Cathedral. The 1881 census shows Samuel's age as 60. There are two Samuels on the IGI who fit : - Samuel GREGORY b.1814 Croftsbank Eccles parents Samuel & Alice Samuel GREGORY b.1815 Pendleton Eccles " Samuel & Mary. I have been searching the ENG-LAN-ECCLES archives and I have seen the lists of Gregorys which you have posted from the Newspapers etc. Is this information available on-line or do you have to go to Eccles to obtain it? If I spot your Isabella in my research I will let you know. Samuel appears to be an important name in my family.
