    3. I am researching the HARRISON Family. John HARRISON married Sarah Daniels at Eccles 13/04/1791. John was from Leigh. They had I believe at least two children Emmie bap Eccles 30/04/1797 and James bap 09/11/1800 I have yet to find any others. In 1797 they were living in Barton where John was a weaver. His son James moved to be overlooker at a mill in Curbar Derbyshire but his eldest son George returned to Manchester to be manager of Brooks and Doxeys the cotton machinery works eventually at West Gorton. I would be particularly interested to learn of the early family and of any researching later members.

    3. Hi I'm not sure if this will help, but Eccles Congregational church was not founded until 1860 so the baptism couldn't have taken place there in 1828, though there was a congregational church in Patricroft from 1796 which wouldn't have been too far away. Margaret Southern

    2. Hello Listers I am a new subscriber and wonder if someone could help by advising why my Gt Grandmother, Margaret JARDINE b 1828 Eccles would be christened at Partington Independent Church, as were her brothers and sisters. Would it be that Partington is the nearest Independent? Also, where would the records be for baptisms there? Thank you in anticipation Wendy IOM
