    2. Hi Does anyone recognise the above. Helen or Ellen Elizabeth Shaw was born in Ireland circa 1867. Before coming to England she lived in Bective County Meath, where her father James Shaw owned an animal feeds business. By 1897 she was living in Broughton England when she married William Henry Moore. On the wedding certificate her fathers name is given as James Shaw, a publican by trade. One of the witnesses was Fanny Elizabeth Shaw, I assume as sister or cousin. They had two sons Robert Edward Moore (b.1899) and Harry Moore (b.1903). Harry I think was named after her brother. In the 1901 census they are show to be living in Eccles with a lodger Robert V Shaw b. 1869 Ireland, I assume this is also either a brother or cousin. Helen or Ellen died in Worsley in 1944. 3. Hi everyone this is my first time at this so please be patient. I am trying to find my GGrandfather who according the 1881 census was born in Manchester in 1841 but on the census he was a mariner but not at home with his wife in Bagillt Flint Wales who name I have been told was Harriet Benjamin b 1840 in Bagillt. At the time of the census it just said she was the head of the house married to a mariner so one must assume he was at sea. My request is for sks to find him on earlier census in Manchester. I know it is a long shot. Regards Sue. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). 1. [ECCLES] Royle graves at St. Mark's

    3. I recently visited St. Mark's Church in Worsley and the church warden was kind enough to give me a copy of the list of headstone inscriptions for the Royle families, as most of the headstones were removed many years ago. I have attempted to type them exactly as they were given to me however, I may have made typos and I do think there may have been a mistake or two in the transcriptions that were done by the church. Those researching the Royles might like to add/compare these to the transcriptions that Lynda Jones so generously posted. ~ Sue Milos, California (o) In memory of JONATHAN ROYLE of Worsley who died 15th May 1871 aged 54 years Also of ELIZA wife of the above who died September 28th 1904 aged 83 years Also of ELIZA daughter of JONATHAN & ELIZA ROYLE who died 2nd April 1871 aged 11 years Thy will be done Also of CHARLES HENRY their son who died 14th January 1880 aged 17 years For 7 years a chorister in this church (b256) In memory of JOHN ROYLE of Hazelhurst who died January 19th 1884 aged 58 years Also ELLEN wife of JOHN ROYLE who died July 16th 1891 aged 83 years Also PHILIP son of JOHN & ELLEN ROYLE who died November 2nd 1858 aged 3 years Also JAMES their son who died August 25th 1873 aged 6 years Also EDWARD their son who died March 12th 1877 aged 3 years (a434) In memory of LUTHER infant son of JAMES & MARY ROYLE of Preston Brook who died June 13th 1859 aged 18 months Also of HUBERT their son who died March 19th 1860 aged six weeks Also of FREDERIC their son who died November 16th 1865 aged 4 years & 9 months (f613) In loving memory of JAMES ROYLES of Dales Brow, Swinton who died the last December 8th 1902 aged 74 years Also of ANN wife of JAMES ROYLES who died May 30th 1909 aged 78 years (e614) In loving memory of JAMES the beloved husband of HANNAH ROYLE who died April 1st 1925 aged 62 years Also HANNAH beloved wife of the above who died September 1st 1954 aged 92 years In heavenly love abiding Also ETHEL their daughter who died October 18th 1892 in her 8th year Come ye apart and rest awhile In Jesus keeping.
