    1. [ECCLES] ECCLES MARRIAGE INDEX.
    2. Jean
    3. Hi Lister Rejoining your list after a short absence. I have access to the Eccles Marriage Index for Jan1813 - June 1837, I had assumed it referred to Eccles Parish Church but are there any other churches in Eccles Parish where marriages were performed within this timeframe? The Index is searchable by bride or groom, but would need alternative spellings for look-ups, only lists year of marriage. Regards Jean.

    3. Jean, Would you be so kind as to look up the surname of GASKELL and CALDWELL in your Marriage Index? I found my gggrandparents marriage info on the BMD site. They were married in 1852 at Eccles St. Marys. I don't know their parent's first names yet, but just wondered if they may be on your index. Thanks for your assistance. Edna Pimental in Arizona

My gggrandparents were married in 1852 and immigrated prior to 1855 so perhaps there was no census to include them. Thanks for your assistance, Edna in Arizona

    1. [ECCLES] Hodgin Family
    2. Stephen Allan
    3. I am looking for anyone with information about Hodgin's from Eccles. My 3x great grandparents were William Hodgin (1812-?)and Sarah Cheetham (1805- ?). They were married at the Eccles parish church on July 18th 1830. Their children included Mary, William Henry, Nicholas and Samuel. Nicholas (1835-1895), my 2 x great grandfather married Ellen Burke (1839- ?) at the parish church on April 12th 1857. They had 12 children, 6 of whom emigrated to Canada between 1890 and 1906. My great-grandfather William Henry Hodgin (1864-1916) married Sarah Dranfield (1866-1933) and they emigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1906. William Henry enlisted as a private soldier in 1915 and was killed in action at Courcelette, France. I have been unable to trace the Hodgin's before my 3 x great grandparents. I am hoping to connect with one of my Hodgin cousins still living in the UK. Steve Allan Canada
