My Husbands grandfather was Ernest Lee, I seem to have found him on the 1901 (although younger than I expected). Could someone with access to the 1891 census please do a look up for him.Ernest was born in Pendlebury the son of Thomas Lee (born Clifton Lancs). Ernest is listed as aged 13 on the 1901 living at 4, Longshaws Buildings Pendlebury. Thomas is on the 1881 census aged 17 living at Thomas St. Clifton with his mother Elizabeth. Thanks Judith

Lynda, Since mother's information is left off marriage certificates, is there a way to find the information at Eccles St. Marys? Joseph Gaskell married Mary Caldwell in 1852 at St. Marys. According to 1851 Census, Joseph's parents are John and Ann Gaskell living in Worsley/Tyldesley at that time. Mary's parents are Henry and Elizabeth Caldwell and living in Swinton during the census. Would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks. Edna
Hello Sean, Though I cannot reply to your question I was interested in contacting you because of your email address. I have Moore relatives who lived in Eccles in 1800's and wondered if there could be any connection. George Moore married Hannah Whittle c. 1812 and had three children - Samuel, Amelia and Henry. Henry was my grgrgrandfather who came to Australia in the early 1850's. The Moores lived in Church Street, Bartons Lane and Timothy Close in Eccles. These children were from George's second marriage. His first marriage was to Elizabeth Woods, who died in 1812. There were five children from the first marriage. I would be interested to know of any connections. Cheers, Glenda Rowe Perth, Western Australia. PMOORE7151@aol.com wrote: Hi All One of my relatives died in Hopwood Av, Eccles in 1928. Does anyone have any idea where he might be buried. If anyone fancies helping out with this project you will be more than welcome. All you need is a computer, a spread sheet programme (Excel) and a couple of good typing fingers. John and Bessie (Elizabeth [nee ANDREWS]) FOX lived at Rock Cliffe, Westminster Road, Eccles in 1931. I believe that Bessie died early in the year; John FOX apparently died in late November or early December. I feel sure they must have been buried in one of the Eccles cemeteries (no idea of their religious affiliation, if any). Can anyone help me find their graves? (Their eldest daughter [Betty GANDY] was living at "Kingsley", Chatsworth Road, Eccles at the time.)
