I have a 19 page will made by John Burgess of Worsley Mill in 1824 which lists as beneficiaries "Eliza Pearson Isabella Pearson and Mary Pearson the three daughters of Thomas Pearson late of Manchester Cotton Merchant but supposed to have died in parts beyond the seas by Ann or Nancy Rogers otherwise Burgess his late wife deceased " My Great Great Grandmother is Isabella Pearson (born about 1814) Although the Burgesses were Methodists, they would have had to marry in a CofE church, so Eccles is the most likely. Does anyone know how to get a copy of a will from Lancashire? Do you need to know the will exists before you write and ask for a copy? In one case, I know that there is a will from 1833, in the other cases, I'm hoping there are wills, from the years 1839 and 1845. It is an INTERACTIVE web site that enables you to add your own entries once you have signed up.
