Jean Please would you look up BURGESS, ROGERS and PEARSON in the Index for me. I have a 19 page will made by John Burgess of Worsley Mill in 1824 which lists as beneficiaries "Eliza Pearson Isabella Pearson and Mary Pearson the three daughters of Thomas Pearson late of Manchester Cotton Merchant but supposed to have died in parts beyond the seas by Ann or Nancy Rogers otherwise Burgess his late wife deceased " My Great Great Grandmother is Isabella Pearson (born about 1814) Although the Burgesses were Methodists, they would have had to marry in a CofE church, so Eccles is the most likely. Thanks for your help Ray Johnson
Does anyone know how to get a copy of a will from Lancashire? Do you need to know the will exists before you write and ask for a copy? In one case, I know that there is a will from 1833, in the other cases, I'm hoping there are wills, from the years 1839 and 1845. Any info very much appreciated. ~sue milos --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? New DSL Internet Access from SBC & Yahoo!

David, I think we're all a little grateful for these postings from Lynda as one day we may see our ancestor's names. Especially those of us who are interested in the Lancashire County. These postings are a part of genealogy to help searchers. Edna

Hi, May I suggest you take a look at www.salfordonline.com This is a great website covering this area and contains many hundreds of photographs both past and present. It is an INTERACTIVE web site that enables you to add your own entries once you have signed up. EVERYTHING IS FREE and there is a Noticeboard, Find Old Friends, The Way We Were, Memorabillia as well as a fabulous section on Salford in Pictures which includes Eccles and surrounding areas. I suggest you give it a try as I know of others who have found what they were looking for here on this site.
