Has any mentioned the Turton FHS on the list. I am not a member but I have quite often come away with one of their booklets when I have stopped off for a walk around the Bolton bookshops on my way North. They always have lots of useful information, much of it concerning Bolton in general. The week I got their latest booklet, Harwood The Early Years. This has pictures of many of the farm buildings around that area and some good maps.
