Hi Andrea, Just for the sake of accuracy, the garage you mention is in fact Gordon's, a main dealer for Ford vehicles, and as you say, Slater St is nearby. The Iron Church was actually Blackburn Rd Congregational Church, and I would have thought it would probably be the closest church available to Congregationalists living in Slater St. I don't think it ever had a graveyard, but there is some information held by Bolton Archives, which lists: Blackburn Road (NC) Registers, minutes, accounts, Sunday School, Social Club, membership, Scout Movement and Women's Guild records 1885-1890 I'm not sure whether the dates relate to all the records including the registers, or just the last item. I hope that will be some help, Rgds, Bob Thornley, Bolton From: <Andreafinney@aol.com> > Could anyone be so kind to tell me if the 'Iron Church' (now an antiques > centre I think) near Astley Bridge Area > of Bolton(A666) served the community of Slater Street in Bolton (near > Gordon > Fords Car Showroom) in 1901 - if so, does anyone know if the were any > burials at the church and if any records exist. > Any help as usual would be most appreciated. > Thanks & regards > Andrea
