    3. Hi Anne, You can investigate other possibilities by accessing the GENUKI church database at http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/churchdb/ and entering the OS grid reference for St Luke's, which is SD702102 This will generate a list of churches, showing their distances from St Luke's. I'd say that the nearest church graveyard to St Luke's that's of any significant size is, and was, St Peter's, Halliwell. Sadly, this church has not released any of its records to the archives, and neither has it allowed the LDS in to transcribe them. You would need to contact the church directly by going to http://www.findachurch.co.uk/temp/sd/sd61/stphalliwell/index.html which will give you a link to an email form. There's information about the church at http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/Bolton-le-Moors/Halliwell/stpeter/index.html I hope that helps, Rgds, Bob Thornley, Bolton From: "Anne Ohlgren" <aohlgren@shaw.ca> > Overdale has searched the records of Heaton and she is not to be found > there.
