Hello List, After a wonderful holiday, I am back to the list with more requests. I would be grateful if SKS could find Margaret AINSWORTH in 1841 & 1861. Margaret married William CALDERLEY in Aug 1862, Holy Trinity, Bolton. She gave her age as 23, Spinster of Bull Lane, Bolton. NO father's name recorded. On the 1871 census she gave her age as 31, PoB: Bolton From FreeBMD there was a Margaret AINSWORTH born June Qtr. 1838 and another Mar Qtr. 1840. There was a Baptism 26 Apr. 1840 St. Peters mother Elizabeth AINSWORTH William CALDERLEY died in April 1879. Margaret remarried in 1881 but this time gave a father's name: Seth FLITCROFT, Brewer. I have gone through the 1851 census but the only Margaret AINSWORTH, age 12, I found was with her parents, John & Mary at 62 Crook St. I did find a Seth FLITCROFT age 35, a Brewer, living with his brother on Andrew St. On Bk. Andrew St. was a lodger, Mary AINSWORTH age 16. Perhaps just a coincidence? Your thoughts and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Regards from Ottawa, Canada Joan
Hi Joan, I am glad you had a wonderful holiday. I am winding down my research etc. at the moment. I am watching the World Cup and then we are preparing for our big holiday. I have had a look for Margaret Ainsworth in 1841 and 1851. There are only two Margarets shown as born in Bolton around the time of your Margaret. The only likely one in 1851 is living at 28 Nelson Street, Great Bolton. She is 11 years of age, born Bolton, and is the niece of Thomas and Ann Ainsworth. The others don't seem to fit with the details you have given. Best Wishes, Anne in Bolton. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joan Bridges" <jbridges@magma.ca> To: <ENG-LAN-BOLTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 14, 2006 6:13 PM Subject: [ENG-LAN-BOLTON] AINSWORTH 1841& 1861 > Hello List, > > After a wonderful holiday, I am back to the list with more requests. > > I would be grateful if SKS could find Margaret AINSWORTH in 1841 & 1861. > > Margaret married William CALDERLEY in Aug 1862, Holy Trinity, Bolton. > She gave her age as 23, Spinster of Bull Lane, Bolton. Hello Anne, Thank you very much for 1851 information. I missed that. This does not seem to be a good time to request look ups:>) The World Cup is not that big in Canada....so tend to forget.... I will wait for a while before I ask for any more look ups. We had a power outage this afternoon, and the one match I was interested in was on. England V Trinidad and Tobago. For 10 years we spent the month of April in Tobago. So had an extra interest, but missed it:>) Regards from Ottawa Joan
In my family, I have a Margaret Ainsworth born in April of 1851 in Mellor. Her father was born in Salesbury and died in Riston. Her siblings were born in either Haslingden, Mellor, and/or Rishton. Just thought I would throw it out there - you never know, it might mean something to Anne or Joan (or am I just HOPING - lol). Hi Debbie, The Margaret AINSWORTH I am looking for gave her age as 23 when she married in 1862 so she must have been born about 1839. I am trying to find her in 1841. Sorry, no connection that I can see. Regards from Ottawa Joan
