Hi, All, Sorry about all my questions: I truly am! . I just want to work out all I have 'found' over the last week or so.(Help, is that all the time?! In the Turton Burials, there is a Mary SUDDEN GARTSIDE, wife of Thomas GARTSIDE of Sharples, (born about 1753). As far as I know this Thomas was married to: 1. Alice(?) - 3 children before she died prior to 1763. 2. Betty BROOKS (of Turton bapt. about 1735; died 30 Aug, bur. 2 Sep, 1805, aged 50). Who could this Mary SUDDEN G. be ?? Perplexion has set in.........................................??? 2nd Question: In the Turton baptisms there is a Peggy chr. Turton to James and Anne GARTSIDE. He was a Labourer, Bradshaw. Plus an Alice chr 1793, Turton to a James and Anne GARTSIDE. He was a Labourer at Quarlton. If they are GARTSIDEs and at Quarlton, I feel sure they must be related to me. They seem to have gone on from there according to the IGI and there are more baptisms (Extracted Entries):All at St Peter's, Bolton. How would I find out about this marriage? I have a James GARTSIDE bapt. 9 Apr, 1758 at St Peter's, Bolton to John GARTSIDE and the mysterious Alce/Alice, with no marriage for him. Any suggestions, anyone, as to where I could find information on yet another GARTSIDE et al surnames.? Best wishes, Carolyn. Australia. (P.S. Seeing I am 'asking' for so much, I hope I shall soon be able to 'send' details to other List members. However, I seem to be the only GARTSIDE researcher on the List. Still, I have asked to join the opr lists as a researcher, so I can do the above. I still have to be 'checked out' by the Vicar ! (Yet to learn more). I am trying to help others! I don't want to be just a 'receiver' and asking Qs all the time. It's just because I'm so new to the list and new to researching in England. Please understand ! C.
