    3. I would say that you need to check the electoral roll for that period (presume the family lived over the shop?) so you can be sure of the spelling of the surname, obviously she will not be recorded but her parents will. If one of her parents have an uncommon name then you might be able to find a death in Death Index, she or a relative might be the informant which will give an address at that time and possibly her married name if she was the informant. You could try GRO TRACELINE, it is not a free service but you really need the exact name. http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/research/traceline/index.asp#0 Martin Briscoe Fort William M&LFHS | Gwynedd FHS -----Original Message----- From: eng-lan-bolton-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:eng-lan-bolton-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Pete Hulme Sent: 15 September 2006 11:28 To: ENG-LAN-BOLTON@rootsweb.com Subject: [ENG-LAN-BOLTON] Sheila Fair, can anyone help, please? HI everyone, After the summer hiatus I'm starting to pick up my research threads again and have been talking with my dad about where we've got to. I have a slightly unusual request to try to trace a family link to someone who (I hope) is still living. My dad (Derek) lost contact with his father's family when his father (Percy) died when Derek was a child. The only contact we know of his that there was a cousin whose family owned a shop (greengrocers?) on the corner of Eskrick Street and Tennyson Street. Dad lost contact years ago but THINKS that she married and may have moved somewhere in the lake district. The person in question was called Sheila Fair (Fir; Fare?) but we've no idea of her married name. She was slightly younger than my dad so would be late 60's or early 70's now I know this is a long shot but it's been preying on my dad's mind since I started researching the family history and I know several of you have peer groups from school days etc. that keep in touch. I anyone could help me find Sheila, or suggest a method for searching for her, my dad would be ecstatic and I'd be very grateful.
