Hi List, 3k, the British army abandoned its scarlet uniform after the disatourous Zulu wars, and replaced it with Khaki uniforms for the Boer war. the headgear shown was used in that conflict, Khaki made soldiers less conspicuous blending with the landscape, and the possibility it might have been used in WW1 in the eastern Mediterranean, Egypt Mesopotamia and Palestine.
