Interesting, I didn't know there was a Quaker connection! I'm pretty sure my ancestors weren't Quakers, the Husband, Joseph Middleton was baptised in the Zion Baptist church in Dent and the marriage was in the Pars Church in Thornton in Lonsdale. He said that a lot of people came to Bolton from Dent because of the Quaker connection. I think my husband's ancestor Robert Burrow(s) may have come to Bolton from Dent, but as far as I know they were not Quakers.
