    3. Hi Tina, Unfortunately, there is no access to the registers of St Peter's, Halliwell, other than by directly contacting the church. They have never released any registers for filming and did not allow the LDS to transcribe them. office@stphalliwell.freeserve.co.uk Rgds, Bob Thornley, Bolton From: "C Port" <cport@bigpond.net.au> > Hi Martin > Thanks for your help with this one. > Will try and get the film for it.

    3. Hi, Following my earlier posting, Lynn Ransom Burton has kindly drawn my attention to an entry on the LDS site www.familysearch.org showin that LDS did in fact film three years of bishops transcripts held at the Lancashire RO at Preston, which cover St Peter's Halliwell from 1840 to 1843. One slight concern is that in the notes for this item, St Luke's Church is referred to, rather than St Peter's. The church has always denied that any such filming was allowed to take place, but they would quite possibly not have the ability to have controlled what happend to the BTs held at Preston. This is very interesting new infomation, for which I thank Lynne. I wonder if anyone has already followed this up and examined the film? If not I shall certainly do so. Rgds, Bob Thornley, Bolton
