Hi Pete, I have been having a look at the 1841 and 1851 Censuses for Cross Street, Little Bolton and on both Censuses there is a Hulme family living next door but two from George Brindle, who has James Hulme as a visitor. I have seen this Hulme family before, but I discounted them because the head, Thomas Hulme, was born in Chorley.
