It has always been the goal of the Lancashire Online Parish Clerks to provide a search function for the data extracted from Parish Registers. This search function is now availble. The search is designed to simplify the problem of mulitple spelling for names. It does not accept wild cards, just enter the normal spelling for a name that is used today and it should return all instances of that name, however it was spelled in the register. Don't try to be too clever with spelling since this may result in no matches. Searches are based on a parish. Where there are records from more than one church in that parish, the desired church may be selected from the drop down box. Searches may also be conducted on that whole parish or on the whole county. There is no facility to select more than one parish at the same time.
