Thanks for reply, Anne GtGtGrandmother Martha Howarth (bp 1814) married Ralph Whitehead in 1837. Martha had an older brother Dionysius and immediately older brother Richard along with many other siblings. I have done no work on the siblings. Martha's parents were John and Martha (nee Rostron possibly). The name Dionysius continued down the Whitehead line along with Howarth being used as a forename. What records are missing for Richard? If you're looking for Turton, it seems to me that most are embedded in Bolton le Moors records - the last few each month seem to be Turton then Walmsley in the 1760s and before (if I recall correctly). However I have no suitable Richard (other than die young ones) Michael Isherwood Colchester ENG-LAN-BOLTON-L@rootsweb.com writes: >Hi Michael, > >Amos' mother was Dorothy Howarth (she married James Kay a year after Amos >was born), who was the daughter of Richard Howarth and Jemima Peacock. >There was a Richard Howarth with a son Dionysius, but I don't think he is >the same Richard. > >After many years of looking, I have not been able to find the baptism >record >of my Richard because the records seem to be missing for the dates I need. > >Are you related to Dionysius? > >Anne in Bolton.
Hi Michael, I have looked at all the Turton records which appear at the back of Bolton Parish Church records, but have not found my Richard. I have, in my notes, a Memorial Inscription for Dionysius Haworth of Turton, who died on the 31st December, 1782 in the 48th year of his age. If he belongs to you, I will type the Inscription out for you. Anne in Bolton. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael.C. Thanks, Anne I would appreciate the memorial inscription. Though I don't have a direct link, the occurence of the name makes a link not unlikely Michael ENG-LAN-BOLTON-L@rootsweb.com writes: >Hi Michael, > >I have looked at all the Turton records which appear at the back of >Bolton >Parish Church records, but have not found my Richard. > >I have, in my notes, a Memorial Inscription for Dionysius Haworth of >Turton, >who died on the 31st December, 1782 in the 48th year of his age.
