    1. Re: [ENG-LAN-BOLTON] Emily Ann SHEPHERD
    2. Hi Anne, Thanks for the birth cert and 1861 census suggestion, which I'll follow up. I've actually trawled through the BMD records name by name, using all the variant spellings I can think of, and I can't locate any likely Emily Shepherd to have been born in Northamptonshire around 1871, or any marriage cert for a James Shepherd to a Rosa. Perhaps James was just a made-up name to cover up the fact that Rosa wasn't married. It does seem worth applying for those two birth certs so thanks again for the suggestion. 3. Hi Sandie, I have had a good look for Rosa, Emily and Gertrude in 1881 in England and Wales, but I can't find them. Do you think they could be in Scotland. If Rosa was a lace maker, she may have travelled to sell her wares. Anne in Bolton. ----- Original Message ----- From: <RevSandie@aol.com> To: <ENG-LAN-BOLTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 27, 2006 10:19 AM Subject: Re: [ENG-LAN-BOLTON] Emily Ann SHEPHERD > > Hi Anne, > > Thanks for the birth cert and 1861 census suggestion, which I'll follow > up. > I've actually trawled through the BMD records name by name, using all the > variant spellings I can think of, and I can't locate any likely Emily > Shepherd > to have been born in Northamptonshire around 1871, or any marriage cert > for a > James Shepherd to a Rosa.
