Hi Anne, Yes indeed you have made a find here. To the best of my knowledge Patrick Scott and Alice Darcy were my gg grandparents. I have yet to prove it beyond doubt. I have never been able to place grandfather Patrick Scott, b.1853, in the same household as the senior Patrick. Patrick Jr does list Patrick Sr as his father on his marriage certificate. What I need more than anything else is Patrick Jr's birth record. He claims to have been born in Newcastle Northumberland. Hours of searching have turned up nothing yet. So far my great grandfather only married, he was never born and did not die! I have a birth certificate for a Mary Ann Scott born, Dec. 12 1863, to Patrick Scott and Alice Darcy. Maybe the first Mary died or or the second one went by the name of Ann. The other birth you found is interesting and I will keep it on file for future reference. Thank you so much for keeping me in mind when you are searching. I have been working on putting an album together of my trip to Bolton. I see that my cousin was re elected yesterday. I'm sure all my ancestors in Tonge are very pleased. Hi Joyce, Which Censuses have you got Patrick Scott Jnr. on? Have you got him on the 1871 Census visiting Stephen Darcy? I have tried to find him in 1861, but so far I have not been able to find him. I have found a birth, on the GRO Index, for Patrick Scott, born in the March Quarter, 1854, Bolton. I know the census says he was born in Newcastle, but it may be worth applying for the Bolton one, just in case they have his place of birth wrong. Patrick Snr. and Alice's other children were born in Bolton. Best Wishes, Anne in Bolton. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joyce Lennard" <joycelennard@shaw.ca> To: <ENG-LAN-BOLTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 06, 2006 1:09 AM Subject: Re: [ENG-LAN-BOLTON] SCOTT BAPTISMS - ST. Hi again Joyce, I have just been going through my notes, and I realise that the Patrick Scott, whose birth I found on the GRO Index, is probably the one whose baptism record I sent to you - Parents James Scott and Ann Daghery.
