    3. Hi Michael, I have a lot of notes about Howarths of Turton. Here are some burials at Turton Chapel. 16.6.1761 John son of Dionysius and Catherine Haworth of Turton 19.7.1761 Betty d. of Dyonisius and Catherine Haworth of Turton 28.2.1766 Robert son of Dyonisius and Catherine Haworth of Turton 18.7.1769 Catherine wife of Dionysius Haworth Turton. (Dionysius Haworth m. Catherine Nuttall 1756) 29.1.1780 Richard son of Dionysius and Margaret Howarth, Innkeeper (Dionysius Howarth m. Margaret Nuttall 1769, I think she may be Catherine's sister) 1.1.1783 Dionysius Howarth, Innkeeper. Baptisms 2.7.1772 Mary dau. of Dionisius and Margaret Haworth, Turton 29.5.1774 Dionisius son of Dionisius and Margaret Haworth, Turton 1.10.1775 Richard son of Dionisius and Margaret Haworth, Turton, Innkeeper 9.2.1780 Alice dau. Dionysius and Margaret Haworth, Turton, Innkeeper If I remember correctly, there is a memorial inscription, in a book at Bolton Library, for Dionysius Howarth who died on 1.1.1783. If you are interested, I will have a look the next time I go to the library. Kind regards, Anne in Bolton. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael.C. 3. Anne Thank you for the data - a bit more for you:- Margaret Nuttall is more likely to have been a sister in law to Catherine. Both Margaret and Dionysius are noted as widowed when they married by Licence in Bolton (23Oct1769). The licence would be worth rooting out. (I note that the marriage to Catherine was also by Licence) Additional Baptisms of first marriage:- James Jul 1757 (IGI) Bolton John 3 Jan 1759 Turton as all below and from transcripts or microfilm of PR at SoG Betty 3 May 1761 Sarah 29 Aug 1762 Robert 4 Dec 1764 Alice 27 Sep 1767 bur 18 Jul 1768 Catherine 19 Jul 1769 - seems mother died in/soon after childbirth Peggy 17 Jun 1771 Robert 14 Mar 1779 Carpenter when Married Anne Brown in 1797 Alice 9 Feb 1781 (according to my notes) I have not yet seriously tried to build families for the children above. I would be interested in the Memorial inscription if it holds genealogical info or anything else of interest on Dionysius. I have been told that he was a very large man.
