Hi Anne, Thanks for all those look ups. I have found where the baby, Maria Gryer fits into the family tree. It's interesting that she gives a fathers name, Micheal Swift, on the marriage record. I wonder if he was also the father of Margaret's other children William and James? The Patrick Scott death you found in 1884 is my great great grandfather. He died in the Bolton Union Workhouse. Interestingly that record gives his place of birth as Foxford, Ireland. The best record I have of where the Irish Scotts came from. I visited his grave in Tonge while I was in Bolton. Was there a year date with the baby Patrick Scott who died Sept. 18 of Scarlet Fever? He may be the Patrick Scott who was born in 1854, son of James Scott. Thanks again for your help Anne. I'll sort these Scotts out yet. Joyce On Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at 08:00 AM, pneanne wrote: > Hi Joyce, > > I have had a look at SS. Peter and Paul's records for the baptism of > Mary Alice in 1883. Hi Joyce, I had the year written on the paper I took to the library. It was September Quarter 1855, so I didn't make a note of it when I wrote the baptism down. Like you say, it is probably the Patrick Scott who was the son of James.
