    3. I'm not sure about the origins of the brewery, but would be very interested indeed. My great grandmother was a bar maid and her father a publican at 39 Mill Street in 1901. According to the now defunct pubsindex website, the pub was named Cromptons Monument. Very interesting indeed that it was close to a brewery of the same name. Thanks, Leisha Central Penna ----- Original Message ----- From: Dellcrom@aol.com<mailto:Dellcrom@aol.com> To: ENG-LAN-BOLTON-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:ENG-LAN-BOLTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 26, 2006 10:47 AM Subject: [ENG-LAN-BOLTON] Crompton Brewery >From Bolton Revisited- Help Wanted _http://www.boltonrevisited.org.uk/92.html_ (http://www.boltonrevisited.org.uk/92.html<http://www.boltonrevisited.org.uk/92.html>) Joseph Sharman commenced his brewing business in 1868 at the Crompton Brewery in Mill Street and in 1874 he established the Mere Hall brewery.
