    3. Linda Maybe Richard Walsh was dead before the 1861 census? There is a GRO Index for Richard Walsh March Q 1861 Bolton 8c p265. There is an Ellen Walsh, married, aged 30, born Westhoughton, boarding with a Partington family in Wellington St., Farnworth in 1861. Could be her? Boarders and lodgers are notorious for having dodgy details recorded. Rumworth/Westhoughton are much of a muchness and I've seen a few incorrect Married/Unmarried in censuses. Peter Wood

    3. Thanks Peter I did look at the BMD but only 1970s onward because the 1871 census did said Ellen was married. You are right though and it does seem the most likely answer. I will send off for the death cert and see if it is a match. If it does match then the Ellen lodging in Farnworth nearer her children also makes sense. Kind regards Linda Hindley -------Original Message------- From: Peter Wood Date: 04/15/06 23:33:59 To: ENG-LAN-BOLTON-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ENG-LAN-BOLTON] Richard Walsh & Ellen Bullough Linda Maybe Richard Walsh was dead before the 1861 census?
