Hi I too am reasearching Walsh's, my elusive Walsh was born approx 1820 called Roger, his son was called James. I have never been able to locate a birth cert for James in either Bury or Bolton and have only ever found Roger on the 1851 census in Halliwell but I am not sure that this is mine. Just out of curiosity have you come across any Roger's either Walsh or Walch as my James has appeared on census' as both.
