Could some kind soul please make some suggestions as to where to look for the above two families, from the marriage in 1730 of James GARTHSIDE (+ other spellings) of Turton, Weaver and Jane ISHERWOOD of Quarlton.? Their son John was a Farmer at Quarlton, but as I continually search through the IGI (so far up to 575) I can find no references to Quarlton or Turton any earlier.
