Hi Tamara, Another paragraph or two further in the book is written - This may also help anyone looking for Martin also. I do hope it will, Best Wishes from Pam Clarke. The first annual meeting at which Westhoughton Church was represented was in 1821. The delegate from Wingates was Thomas Boardman, great-grandfather of Mrs Howarth, and father of old Thomas Boardman, who until his death at Warcock Hill a few years ago (written in 1895) was a constant worshipper at Wingates. In 1822 Richard Martin and William Bradshaw attended the annual meeting on behalf of Wingates Church. Richard Martin was uncle to the late John Martin so well known as a disciple of Daniel Dancer. Richard was a preacher from the beginning of the movement. He went to America before the chapel was opened in 1835.
