I personally wouldn't believe anything I found on the internet without checking it myself to the original records - if your original information about Amos' christening was taken from the IGI (Member submitted entry) then it is NOT a reliable source. You might be able to order the films for Walmsley Chapel from your local LDS Family History Centre and check through them yourself - though I'm not sure from the website whether the PR's are available on film (It lists an Index to Baptisms, but this will probably just be a transcription). Some time ago, I trawled through the Christ Church Walmsley (Walmsley Chapel) baptisms on film at Manchester Central Library, starting at 1795. Looking at my files, I see I have noted "The last entry in this register is dated May 1808 and the next register starts at April 1825" so I wonder if there is a missing register? Maybe Bolton Library/Archives might be able to offer advice. Sorry not to be able to offer anything more helpful!
