Hello everyone, I have received two photos from David Allan concerning his gt.gt. uncle Jehu Hughson. The first photo (ref: 7B) which I would date as being early 20th century, shows four workmen repairing the pavement in Bark Street. The Loan Company at 76-78 Bark Street can clearly be seen in the background. This loan company, owned by Wm. Greenwood, appears in Kelly's 1905 Trade Directory, but is not in the 1895. I would say that this photo was taken by a professional photographer owing to its clarity and composition (one of James Winstanley's, Bolton's Outdoor Photographer, perhaps).
