Can anyone tell me whether there was (or still is) a pub in Bolton called 'The Church'? I had an e-mail from someone yesterday, referring to my great aunt and uncle, who lived in Bolton. Apparently, they wrote a letter after some good news saying how they would 'drink a toast in the Church'. It was later learned that that was the name of their favourite watering hole and not a church as such! So, I was wondering whether there was an actual pub with this name or whether it was their own nickname for their local. Regards... David Allan.
