    3. Hello everyone, I'm back on this list after a break. I was born in Eden St, Astley Bridge. Could SKS on this list please tell me if there is any way at all that I can find out who(meaning which members of my family) were living at 13 Hacken Lane, Darcy Lever, say, around the 1920 - 1935 era? My family, the WILCOCK/WILCOX's lived there for many years. My grandfather died there in 1919. From then on, we lose track of them. I know that members of the family still lived there well into the '30's, because my grandfather, Lawrence Wilcock stayed there for a time in the 3o's with them. How is the electoral roll checked? Does a person need to know the surname of the family or just look up the address? And is it so that only men had the vote, and so only men's names are shown? Can anyone give me any ideas? Please? I'm trying to find addresses for my Grandfather Lawrence WILCOCK after he came home to England from Massachusetts in 1919. He was a carpenter and for sometime-but I don't know which years-he had his own business. He lived the whole time around the Bolton area, but 13 Hacken Lane Darcy Lever is the only address that I have, from his naturalisation papers dated 29 May 1935. By then he had changed his surname from WILCOCK to WILCOX. Can anyone give me any help? I would greatly appreciate it. Sylvia, in Sydney.

    3. Hi Sylvia, Electoral Rolls are made of Wards within the local council Boundaries, They consist of streets in any particular Ward with the names and address's of occuupants. I don't know how many wards there were in Darcy Lever, but Hacken Lane should be suffcient for your search Norm and Sylvia <[email protected]> wrote: Hello everyone, I'm back on this list after a break.
