    3. Farmer Street is shown on the Alan Godfrey 1908 map Lancashire Sheet 87.13. Heading north along Fletcher St, Bolton you pass on the right first St Mark's St, then Doman St, then Lake St. The next street along is Albion St, followed by a block of terraced houses, then the junction with Bridgeman St. Half way along the terrace and behind it, is the very short Farmer St, running to the east. There was a Briscoe Street in Bolton near Grecian Street and the Robin Hood Mills, it has gone now but it has me wondering about how it got the name! Martin Briscoe Fort William M&LFHS | Gwynedd FHS

    3. Thanks everyone. The street was so small that no wonder I couldn't find it. On the 1920 map it has disappeared. --- On Tue, 6/5/08, Bob Thornley <[email protected]> wrote: > From: Bob Thornley <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [ENG-LAN-BOLTON] farmer street > To: [email protected] > Date: Tuesday, 6 May, 2008, 2:54 PM > Farmer Street is shown on the Alan Godfrey 1908 map > Lancashire Sheet 87.13. > > Heading north along Fletcher St, Bolton you pass on the > right first St > Mark's St, then Doman St, then Lake St. The next > street along is Albion St, > followed by a block of terraced houses, then the junction > with Bridgeman St. > Half way along the terrace and behind it, is the very short > Farmer St, > running to the east. > > Regards, > Bob Thornley, Bolton > > From: Martin Briscoe > Sent: 06 May 2008 10:48 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [ENG-LAN-BOLTON] farmer street > > I can't see it on the 1895 25" map but I came one > street of interest to me. > There was a Briscoe Street in Bolton near Grecian Street > and the Robin Hood > Mills, it has gone now but it has me wondering about how it > got the name! > > Martin Briscoe > Fort William > M&LFHS | Gwynedd FHS > > > :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: > > Except for personal messages, please post replies to the > list. > Other people can learn from them! > > :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > [email protected] with the word > 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and > the body of the message __________________________________________________________ Sent from Yahoo!
