Some years ago, maybe on this list or maybe elsewhere, I read of a road in the Bolton area on which a/some murders occurred. I think the name Hobgoblin comes to mind, but not positively. Because of those murders on an old, scary road, the word hobgoblin came into usage as part of Halloween vernacular. I remember there was a map pictured showing the road. Of course the word hobgoblin is minimally used in the States, but I would very much appreciate being refreshed on the subject. Joyce Stevens Livonia, Michigan
