Yes, dates do help ! ! Daniel was born 1808 to a James WALKDEN and Nancy/Ann FINCH. At the moment I have James b.c.1785, I think in Rivington but possibly Horwich and then baptised at the Presbyterian Church, Rivington. If this is the correct James then his Father was John WALKDEN and mother Sarah BROWNLOW, possibly tenant farmers in Rivington . At some stage they had to move off the land and in to Horwich. It is roughly at this stage that I first picked up the Walkden name in this area.
