Just been having a look at the new format LDS FamilySearch site and going over some of my family. My earliest Briscoe is a marriage of Humphrey Briscoe to Alice TAYLOR in Bolton in 1773 - he was a weaver from Tonge I have previous seen some others earlier in the 1700s in Parish Church record and seeing some of these again on the LDS site. There seem to be a few deaths around 1726/1727/1728 so wondering if there was a reason for them or just coincidence (one might have been copied down wrong as 1712 or got two people mixed up). They seem to be Little Lever or Great Lever so could fit with Tonge. There is also a Hannah Briscoe buried 1 Oct 1728 she was single and it has her as L.B. presumably Little Bolton. Wondering if any ideas, need an extra generation or two so I can join them up with mine. There is a bit of guesswork in these but put them down some time ago to see if could link to any other records. Descendants of Peter BRISCOE ---------------------------- 1-Peter BRISCOE b.
