    3. Hi Martin, A lot of the accident reports for the Bolton area have not been uploaded to the site yet. However, I find it fascinating to read the newspaper reports and to compare them with our "modern" ways of reportage! I have a few ancestors who feature - including one fatality in 1831 - crushed by a run-away tender during an inaugural passenger train journey between Bolton and Liverpool. (mind, he was riding illegally on the tender at the time, along with many others!)
