RIMMER REUNION Once again The Rimmer Family History Society will be hosting this popular, and we believe unique, event at the Fleetwood Hesketh Social Club, Fylde Road, Marshside, Southport, PR9 9XH on Sunday 9th October 2011 from 12noon until 5.30pm. The speaker (at 1.15pm) will be Professor Stephen Harding of Nottingham University, a man who was leading the project which involved taking DNA from many West Lancashire/Wirral men to ascertain if they were of Viking origin. The Rimmer Family History Society firmly believe their surname is, indeed, of Scandinavian origin and are looking forward to what Professor Harding has to say. As well as listening to a very knowledgeable speaker there will be much Rimmerabelia to peruse, internet access for research and refreshments/bar will be available. If you have any Rimmer heritage please bring a family tree with you to display on the boards - you never know, you might meet up with family you didn’t know you had - it has happened at every Reunion is 2002! This is a free event and you don’t have to be a Rimmer to attend (although it helps to be part of the ‘madding crowd’) - anyone with an interest in our surname will be made very welcome. For further information please contact the Chairman of The Rimmer FHS, Gladys Rimmer Armstrong on (01704) 214120, Mob: 079 666 25359 or e-mail chairman@rfhs.co.uk
